Lisa R. Joyce

Lisa R. Joyce joined Shepherd Elder Law Group in June 2023 as a Senior Attorney. Lisa earned her law degree at the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2000 where she was a member of the law review and her undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Kansas. Before attending law school, Lisa worked for a large life insurance company in Kansas City, where she first became interested in estate planning while processing beneficiary changes for customers. Her interest in special needs planning began after seeing how the absence of planning for a disabled family member can impact the caregivers and that person’s sense of well-being.

Following law school, Lisa practiced estate planning and then spent several years representing injured people in mass torts. Lisa is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri.

Lisa and her husband live in Prairie Village, KS, and have four children. In her free time, Lisa likes to read, garden, and cook.
