MO HealthNet can help individuals in Missouri nursing homes or long-term care facilities cover expenses for room and board, as well as essential medical and non-medical goods and services. Participants are required to use most of their income for these costs, with exceptions for a $50 allowance, health insurance premiums, and any income designated for a spouse or dependents.
Who is Eligible for Assistance?
To qualify for this program, applicants must meet specific income requirements and be:
- 65 years of age or older, blind, or permanently disabled
- A U.S. citizen (or a qualified non-citizen) with a Social Security Number (or proof of application for one)
- A Missouri resident with no intention of moving
- Approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) for care in a nursing facility
